I-Core Tools
New: Type "C" I-Core Tension Tool and the Slender Peterson Reach

I-Core Drill Jigs

Small Format I-Core Drill Jig: $180.00

You asked for it - You got it! Bill of Plain view NY complained about needing an I-CORE drill-jig that was easy to use, and would allow him to NOT DAMAGE DOOR HARDWARE, plus it must ALLOW HIM TO DECODE the lock so he could make a control key for larger jobs.

Here it is: The small format I-CORE drill jig that beats them all..... Used as directed and you will shear off the I-CORE locking lug from within the "Best Type" I-CORE, with no damage to door hardware or to the pin-stacks.

Made of hardened tool steel. Uses any cut or uncut keyblank as a guide. Designed to work on all brands. User cuts off the top of the key's bow.

Precise, fast and efficient! Comes with instructions and our top quality drill bits. Packaged in foam filled blow molded case. Includes storage tube for drill bits, guides, and key blanks.

Think about all the door hardware and I-Core locks you can save.

Corbin/Russwin Removable Core Drill Jig: $170.00

Peterson has expanded the technology that allows damage free (to the lock) removal of small format interchangeable core (I-Cores) into large format cores.

You can now remove the Corbin/Russwin large format cores without destroying the pin stack. This as you know allows you to only destroy one core to determine the system control key cuts.

Also effective for removing damaged or vandalized cores.

CR-DJ, Corbin/Russwin Removable Core Drill Jig, $170.00

I-CORE SLAM HAMMER Price: $55.00

Here’s a nice special for those of you who use our I-core Drill Jig, or those who just need a slam hammer on occasion.

This Peterson Slam Hammer is designed with a hefty weight, and a hardened one-half inch bolt. The removable tip accepts drywall screws and allows that little helping tap we need to give every once and a while. Or you can really pound on whatever needs it!

I would guess the weight is about 5 pounds, so you can get a significant thump if you want to. Enjoy it!

IC-SH. Slam Hammer, Original Price: $55.00

Peterson's I-Core Tension Tools

The I-Core Tension Tool is Used to extract a small format interchangeable core (SFIC) from its housing without damaging either the I-core or the housing.  Control Key type extractions can be accomplished because this tool firmly grasps the drilled holes in many control sleeves, allowing picking of the control lug.  This tool can be used with Arrow, Best, Falcon, Ilco, KSP, Schlage & Master I-Cores.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Upon successful manipulation of the control pins by way of your standard picking instruments, the control lug can be moved clock wise the required 15 degrees to disengage the core.

1.  With it's teeth pointing downwards insert the tension tool fully into the keyway.

2.  While gently "jiggling" the tension tool lightly rotate the tool clockwise until you can feel that the teeth have engaged with the holes in the sleeve in the bottom of the keyway. Insure that you hold the rear tail of the tool downwards in the keyway so that all of the teeth engage.  The tension tool will now point somewhere between 4 and 6 o'clock.

3.  Pick your lock as per normal. HINT: Some locksmiths find that the use of our Slender Gem (see below) or our Peterson Reach allows easier keyway access in narrow or Para centric keyways.

4.  When lock has been picked it is suggested that the locksmith use either their picking instrument or a stronger tension tool during I-Core disengagement to overcome the inherent friction encountered when turning a control lug.

5.  If your tension tool seems to catch during the turning process:  lightly lift it while continuing your turning operation with the second tool you are rotating the lug with.

.

Peterson's I-Core Tension Tools History:

When we began work on our original Stainless Steel turning tool with Mr. Lynk, we were only provided with a picture of Mr. Finch's tool. We moved forward with only a few I-Cores obtained for our design activity. Since our product came to market we have obtained an original"Gerry Finch Tool," and most of the rest of the small format cores. As accidents sometimes yield good results we now find that we designed around keyways that Mr. Finch's tools were not strongly successful with. In fairness our thin stainless tool does not work perfectly with all the keyways that Gerry Finch's tool worked so well on, and our new thicker "C" type won't go in all cylinders, but what a set the three make!.

Type A Tension Tool, Price $15.00: This is our thinner stainless steel I-Core Tension Tool that we developed with assistance from Tom Lynch. It is proven to work the best on A, C, DD, M, TR, Q, and R keyways,

ICTT-A, Type A I-Core Tension Tool, $15.00

Type B Tension Tool, Price $15.00: This is our thicker steel I-Core Tension tool that resembles the original Gerry Finch tool. It is proven to work the best on D, B, E, F, G, H, K, and N keyways.

ICTT-B, Type B I-Core Tension Tool, $15.00

Type C Tension Tool, Price $15.00: This is our new thicker tool that does an exceptional job on wider keyways such as the "E" style.

ICTT-C, Type "C" I-Core Tension Tool, $15.00

IC-GS2 Group Set-2,  Price: $49.00

This is our second grouping of small format I-core tools. We have added the "C" tension tool to help you with those wide open keyways such as the "E Keyway," and added the "Slender Reach" because it is so effective on these locks.

If you already have the earlier set have no fear, we have spaired the two new parts separately for you.

IC-GS2, A, B & C I-Core Tension tools plus Slender Gem and Slender Reach, $49.00

Slender Gem,  Price: $8.00

The Slender GEM stainless steel pick is a natural companion for Peterson's Small Format Interchangee-able Core Tension Tool.  At 0.015 it is only 60% of the thickness of your standard picking tools, and less than 75% of the thickness of other 0.022 "thin" tools. Because of it's slenderness this precision pick allows easier access for picking of locks with narrow keyways, or those keyways approaching the Para centric design. And the GEM tip allows a greater pin access.

PG-SS, Slender Gem,  $8.00

Slender Peterson Reach,  Price: $8.00

The Slender Peterson Reach is another natural companion for Peterson's Small Format Interchangee-able Core Tension Tool.  Also at 0.015 it's slenderness plus it's unique reaching ability allows this precision pick to penetrate freely into the I-core lock design.

NEW PRODUCT !!!!

PR-SS, Slender Peterson Reach,  $8.00
