Wafer Breaker Instructions

AD-B American Padlock ™ Bypass Tool and WAFER BREAKER Instructions:
These tools are designed to work in American™ brand non-key retaining pin tumbler padlocks fitted with blocking disk wafers in the rear of the padlock cylinder.

1. The straight wire segment of this tool is placed in the CENTER of the keyway, with the flag segment of the tip pointed AWAY from the pins, and is therefore riding along the bottom of the keyway. Continue insertion until the rear of the cylinder is reached.

2. Putting a LIGHT clockwise rotational pressure on the tool, and a LIGHT inward pressure into the lock, rotationally wiggle the tool within the keyway (HINT: think of the motion of a jump rope). If there is no blocking wafer in the lock, you will feel the tool “settle in”, and the tool gently rotate clockwise. (There are times when relaxing the inward pressure will allow the tool to “settle in” more quickly.)

3. Continue the clockwise motion while pushing in on the shackle and the lock will open.

IMPORTANT: Do not become impatient and attempt to use this device as a “force tool.” The tool may become damaged. If you are unable to make this tool work within 60 seconds, you have probably encountered a lock that has a blocking wafer behind the cylinder. See reverse side of this instruction.

Important notice: Use of the AD-B does some eroding (damage) to the surface of your lock’s locking cam surface (located between the rear of the cylinder and the locking ball bearings). Repetitive use on the same lock without replacing the locking cam may cause enough damage to this cam as to prevent further success.

Developmental Note: In all of the development sessions experienced with our AD-B wafer breaker tool, a key was always able to open the lock after using our breaker tool.

AD-B American Padlock ™ Bypass Tool and WAFER BREAKER Instructions

These tools are designed to work in American Brand ™ non-key retaining pin tumbler padlocks fitted with blocking wafers.

1. Insert the smaller headed tool into the bottom of the keyway with the pint towards the right as shown.
2. Gently tap the tool into the keyway until you meet resistance. Continue taping and you will observe the tool entering approximately 1/8 inch more and bottom in the back of the lock. Remove the tool.
3. Place the same smaller headed tool into the bottom of the keyway but with the pointed corner upwards. Tap tool into keyway and remove as per step two above.
4. Place the second tool into the bottom of the keyway with the notch pointed upwards as shown. Tap tool into keyway and remove as per step two above.
5. Use your bypass tool as indicated on reverse side of instructions to open padlock.

IMPORTANT: On MOST occasions SEVERAL series of steps 1-5 are required to fully enlarge your opening. REPEAT THE PROCEEDURES UNTIL THE BREAKERS COME OUT OF THE CYLINDER EASILY.
You will sometimes notice that protruding shards of the protective shield may interfere with the ease of turning. Use gentle repetitive turning actions to break through these shards.
Note: You may need to pull open the shackle when using this tool to help the locking cam complete it’s full rotation.
